BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — One particular person died in a small aircraft crash Thursday morning near the home of Buffalo Payments offensive lineman Dion Dawkins, police stated.
The aircraft crashed within the space of 100 Stewart Courtroom simply earlier than 11:30 a.m. in a residential space of the city of Aurora.
“Tragedies happen all of the time. The biggest point about it is I hope that the pilot’s family is O.K.,” Dawkins stated. “I hope that they’re doing alright, because somebody lost their life today for an accident, a mechanical thing, something. And I’m glad that my family is perfectly fine.”
“For the family of that pilot, my prayers are out,” he added.
The flight originated in Lansing, Mich. and was heading to White Plains, north of New York Metropolis. There have been no accidents on the bottom.
A number of companies responded to the crash, together with State Police and the Erie County Sheriff’s Workplace. The male pilot who was killed had not been recognized as of Thursday night.
Police stated the aircraft had mechanical points and that the pilot had declared an emergency shortly earlier than the crash and was diverting to Buffalo Niagara Worldwide Airport. The crash is beneath investigation.
