Rose D’Amato (b. 1991, Whittier, CA) is a pinstriper and painter dwelling and dealing in San Francisco, CA. As a second-generation signal maker, she is drawn to ornamental people arts, hand-lettering, and the enduring imagery tied to her upbringing and direct expertise pinstriping and lettering on lowriders. She is motivated by her intention to study and implement methods of handmade modes of manufacturing and by doing so discover her inventive lineage. She attended the San Francisco Artwork Institute and acquired a BFA in portray in 2016 and afterwards apprenticed and labored at New Bohemia Indicators. D’Amato continues to work independently as a painter and has been the Adjunct Professor of Hand lettering at California Faculty of the Arts since 2019. At the moment, she is the Headlands Middle for the Arts Tournesol Awardee for 2023–2024. She is at present working in the direction of upcoming initiatives at Gallery 16, BAMPFA, Charlie James Gallery and Home of Seiko.
Angela Hennessy is an Oakland–primarily based artist and survivor of gun violence. She constructs sculptures and installations with on a regular basis home labor—washing, wrapping, stitching, knotting, brushing, and braiding. Her work has been featured in exhibitions at McEvoy Basis for the Arts, Museum of the African Diaspora, Oakland Museum of California, and Pt. 2 Gallery, and is within the collections of the de Younger Museum and the Crocker Artwork Museum. Her audio guides, meditations, and poems have been featured at San Francisco Museum of Fashionable Artwork, de Younger Museum, and SOMArts Gallery. Hennessy holds an MFA from California Faculty of the Arts the place she teaches programs on modern narratives of demise. For a few years she served as a hospice volunteer and demise doula working with households on dwelling funerals, demise vigils, and grief rituals. She has acquired awards from San Francisco Artadia, Svane Household Basis, Joan Mitchell Basis, and the Fleishhacker Basis. Hennessy is on the advisory board of Recompose Seattle and lectures nationally on aesthetic and social practices that mediate the boundary between the dwelling and the useless.
Rupy C. Tut (b. 1985, Chandigarh, India) studied calligraphy and Conventional Indian portray on the Prince’s Basis Faculty of Conventional Arts, London in 2016. She beforehand acquired a BS from UCLA and MPH from Loma Linda College, CA. She has loved solo exhibitions together with at ICA San Francisco; Jessica Silverman, San Francisco; Triton Museum of Artwork, Santa Clara, CA; and Peel Artwork Gallery and Museum Archives, Ontario. Tut’s work is within the everlasting assortment of Crocker Artwork Museum, Sacramento; the de Younger, Fantastic Arts Museum of San Francisco; Asian Artwork Museum, San Francisco; and Eiteljorg Museum, Indianapolis, IN. She lives and works in Oakland, CA, and is represented by Jessica Silverman, San Francisco.
