4 arrested in connection to alleged auto theft ring

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — An investigation into an auto theft ring allegedly answerable for stealing greater than 400 autos price greater than $8 million has led to 4 arrests, the Michigan Lawyer Common introduced Tuesday.

The Division of Lawyer Common claims that the group has operated in Eaton, Kent, Oakland, Washtenaw, Macomb, and Wayne counties, focusing on new car storage tons, automotive dealerships, parking tons, and residences. The group is suspected of utilizing countersurveillance to steal these autos rapidly and effectively—and utilizing violence if confronted by police or safety.

The division says stolen autos are offered considerably beneath market worth on the black market to consumers looking for unregistered autos, and that a number of stolen autos have been linked to different legal exercise.

The arrests came about on Thursday, Jan. 2, when Troy police, Detroit police, and the Michigan State Police arrested:

Davonta Jones, 31, of Detroit, who was charged with eight counts of receiving and concealing a stolen motorcar.

Donovan Tucker, 22, of Detroit, who was charged with eight counts of receiving and concealing a stolen motorcar.

Davion Tucker, 21, of Detroit, who was charged with seven counts of receiving and concealing a stolen motorcar.

Timothy Bell, 23, of Detroit, who was charged with 10 counts of receiving and concealing a stolen motorcar.

Desmond Maurice Wilson, 21, of Detroit, was charged with 9 counts of receiving and concealing a stolen motorcar and one depend of breaking and coming into.

The investigation into the alleged auto theft ring is ongoing.
