5 German mountaineers have died in an avalanche in northern Italy.
It hit round 4pm on Saturday close to Cima Vertana, within the Ortles mountains, at an altitude of greater than 3,500m (11,500ft).
Two males survived and had been flown to hospital by helicopter.
The our bodies of three of the victims – two males and a lady – had been recovered on Saturday, whereas a person and his 17-year-old daughter had been discovered on Sunday morning.
They had been touring independently of one another in three teams.

Rescuers stated they did not know why the climbers had been nonetheless ascending at a comparatively late hour.
“They had been dragged to the lower part of the gully where the avalanche occurred,” stated rescue spokesman Federico Catania.
“Rescue teams are now returning to the valley, also considering the worsening weather conditions at high altitude.”
