5 remaining ‘Bali 9’ members return to Australia

The 5 remaining members of the Bali 9 drug ring have returned residence to Australia, after almost 20 years in jail in Indonesia.

Authorities say the boys will “have the opportunity to continue their personal rehabilitation and reintegration in Australia”.

Indonesia had shared a draft proposal for the return of the 5 prisoners earlier this month.

The draft phrases included banning the 5 from returning to Indonesia, rules on the authorized foundation for the switch, and a requirement that Australia respect the choice of the Indonesian court docket.

It mentioned Indonesia would respect any resolution taken by Australia when the prisoners returned residence, together with if the group was granted a pardon.

The repatriation didn’t contain an alternate of prisoners.

Indonesia’s authorities has been contacted for remark.
