LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Advocates and lawmakers gathered Monday afternoon to announce new funding for repairs to the Lake Lansing Dam.
Officers say the state’s 2026 price range allotted $750,000 towards the dam, which they are saying will assist strengthen the infrastructure of the dam to maintain close by neighborhoods and faculties protected.

Advocates say the dam is crucial to sustaining secure water ranges, defending the encompassing properties, supporting recreation, and guaranteeing ecological stability.
“$750,000 appropriation from the state to this project is very significant and very much appreciated,” stated Claudia Kerbawy, president of the Lake Lansing Property House owners Affiliation. “The county, the township, and the residents around the lake will be paying for this project, and this will go a long way into that process.”

Lake Lansing is a 453-acre lake, and it sees greater than 330,000 annual guests to each surrounding parks, in line with the Ingham County Board of Commissioners. The parks present seaside entry, out of doors picnic spots, ice-fishing, boating, paddleboarding, volleyball, and a public boat launch.
The lake can be utilized by the Lansing Sil Membership and the Michigan State College sail staff.
