She added that they knew of others who had additionally been thought of for the camps, although had not essentially attended them.
“There are also mentions of other children, including from the occupied Luhansk region, who participated in the competitive selection process,” Ms Rashevska stated.

However campaigners say we should not be deceived by the benign itinerary.
Ms Rashevska stated: “Although such visits are presented as ‘cultural exchanges’ they are in fact ‘children’s diplomacy’ which effectively legitimizes the totalitarian regime in North Korea.
“For youngsters from the occupied territories, this implies visiting a state that helps aggression in opposition to Ukraine.
“All of them have already undergone ideological indoctrination and militarisation, making them a kind of tool of Russian propaganda.
“The inclusion of kids from the occupied territories of Ukraine additionally serves as a manner for the Russians to legitimise the annexation and exhibit that these kids have already turn out to be bearers of Russian identification.”

The Songdowon Worldwide Youngsters’s Camp, on the east coast of North Korea, lies just some miles from the regime’s newly-built seashore resort at Wonsan.
To get there, Ms Rashevska stated, kids have been taken from occupied Ukraine to Moscow, then to Vladivostok within the Russian far east, and at last on to North Korea.
And whereas only some kids have made the journey up to now, campaigners are elevating the alarm now within the hope of saving others.

Ms Rashevska wrote: “A small number of children taken to North Korea does not mean that Russia will not expand these programs in the future.
“Because of this you will need to increase this concern publicly, in order that these remoted circumstances don’t grow to be administrative practices or state insurance policies of the Russian Federation.
“That would increasingly hinder the return of children, especially from closed countries like North Korea.”
North Korea has been sending troops to Ukraine to struggle alongside Russian forces since final 12 months.
And Ms Rashevska stated it was no coincidence that Ukrainian kids have been being despatched to a hostile nation.
