He added Labour is stabilising the financial system and fixing the foundations to “build, with pride and determination, a Britain that belongs to you”.

“But it will be hard,” he mentioned.

“That’s not rhetoric – it’s reality.”

He failed to say the triple lock – which suggests the state pension goes up every year by whichever is increased of two.5%, inflation or earnings progress – was launched by the coalition authorities in 2011.
