Central Michigan College appoints sixteenth president

Central Michigan College appoints sixteenth president

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Central Michigan College has chosen its subsequent president.

The Board of Trustees on Thursday voted unanimously to nominate Neil MacKinnon to the place, in response to an announcement from CMU.

The college says MacKinnon holds a doctorate in pharmacy well being care administration and has greater than 25 years of expertise in larger training, with roles starting from school member to dean to provost.

He joins CMU from Augusta College in Georgia, the place he served as provost for 3.5 years. MacKinnon helped create and implement a strategic plan for the Augusta College, and below his management, Augusta noticed enrollment positive aspects and better analysis funding, in response to CMU.

In an announcement, CMU Board of Trustees Chair Todd J. Regis described MacKinnon as “an engaged candidate who spent numerous hours researching CMU’s past and present” and whose “vision aligns with (CMU’s) vision statement.”

“CMU’s mission statement is very different from those at most universities,” MacKinnon instructed College Communications. “CMU mentioned it would outline its success by the success of its college students and graduates, and by its affect on the communities it serves — that’s a robust dedication.”

MacKinnon’s time period begins Nov. 1. He would be the college’s sixteenth president.

CMU began trying to find its subsequent president after President Robert Davies, who was appointed to the place in September 2018, introduced at the start of the 12 months that he deliberate to step down.
