Jackson official on cat deaths: ’100% a hoarding case’

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The state of affairs that led to 38 lifeless cats in Jackson County this week was “100% a hoarding case,” says the county’s animal management director.

Lydia Sattler tells 6 Information by textual content that the 30 cats present in a Jackson condo advanced dumpster Tuesday led to a house within the metropolis. Sattler says the case has been handed to the Jackson County Prosecutor for consideration of prison prices towards three individuals.

She tells 6 Information the seized animals had been alive however “so flea infested, many had significant hair loss and scabbing from scratching.”

One of many cats was pregnant Sattler tells 6 Information. She says the surviving animals are present process medical care and can quickly be out there for adoption.

”And seeing their situation, I’m glad we discovered them once we did,” she says.
