Apple Butter Competition Celebrates fiftieth Anniversary

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)— The Apple Butter Competition brings nature lovers and apple butter to Mid-Michigan. 

The Apple Butter Competition is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this weekend. 

Rachel Swedburg, Board President, says the occasion is a pinnacle pageant for the Fenner Conservatory and Fenner Nature Middle. 

She says the star of the present is the apple butter. 

“We do the method of stirring the cauldron and truly making the apple butter. Which is a extremely cool expertise,” mentioned Swedburg. 

She says the occasion permits individuals to study extra concerning the surroundings round them, which is all part of the Fenner Nature Middle’s mission. 

“Our mission is to attach our group with training and stewardship of the pure surroundings,” mentioned Swedburg. 

The occasion permits individuals to take heed to stay music, style the savoring flavors of apple cider, and apple butter, and purchase from native companies. 

Olivia Lindberg, a nature photographer, who sells her work on the occasion hopes her pictures brings a love of wildlife to the group. 

“You hear so many stories about what the animals remind them of. It’s more of a sharing experience than a selling experience,” said Lindberg. “Honestly, it’s a very beautiful thing.”

She says she regularly visits the character heart and loves of the outside. 

“Nature can be intimidating because you don’t know where to go, and where are all the best spots are and the nature centers pick it all out for you,” said Lindberg. “They put you all on the right trail to look at something beautiful, you know?”

The Apple Butter Competition continues Saturday via Sunday from 11 a.m. to five p.m.
