GRAND LEDGE, Mich. (WLNS)—A Mid-Michigan non-profit hosted a fundraiser to organize its animals for the winter.

Sophie Snow, a volunteer, says the pageant permits folks to work together with animals who’ve been surrendered or uncared for to the farm.

“To be right here right this moment and see how this has grown and the way many individuals love this farm. It is wonderful,” mentioned Snow.

She says there are about 80 animals on the property.

Nicole Knight, one other volunteer says the occasion can also be a fundraiser, the place all of the funds return to the animals to organize them for the winter months.

“They need more straw for bedding,” said Knight. “Obviously their food, and they’ll go through more food because they can’t go out and graze as much.”

Snow says the cash additionally goes to animals’ medical wants.

“The older horses and animals they do require more medical care, but again with animals coming in from neglect cases to there’s a lot of upfront costs from taking them on,” said Snow. “Veterinary care, farriers, things like that.”

Volunteers say the farm started when the proprietor, Victoria Worthy began to foster animals.

Now that love for giving animals a house has become a sanctuary the place snow and plenty of different volunteers can care for his or her furry pals as nicely.

“That is my dream, Vick’s dream, and a shared dream of a variety of different volunteers,” mentioned Snow. “There’s a lot of people here who put in years and years of hard work.”
