Dozens of stolen supercars smuggled overseas are returned to UK

Thirty supercars stolen and illegally exported to Thailand have been returned to the UK after an eight-year investigation.

A complete of 35 high-end automobiles – together with Vary Rovers, Porsches, Mercedes, BMWs, and Lamborghinis – have been taken, with a mixed worth of £6.5m, in response to the Nationwide Automobile Crime Intelligence Service (NaCVIS).

They have been obtained fraudulently on finance contracts from automobile dealerships throughout England in 2016 and 2017 earlier than being shipped to Thailand, the company stated.

After an eight-year investigation led by NaCVIS, with the assistance of the Met Police, Nationwide Crime Company, and the British and Thai embassies, a number of arrest warrants have been executed and 30 of the automobiles have been tracked down and seized in Bangkok.

The automobiles have now arrived again within the UK via the Port of Southampton and are being saved in a warehouse close by earlier than being returned to their authentic dealerships.

Sharon Naughton, head of NaCVIS, stated the organisation “will not rest until every avenue of investigation has been exhausted”.

“There is no time limit on our efforts to disrupt criminality and return proceeds obtained through illegal means,” she added.

13 individuals have now been charged because of the investigation, the Nationwide Crime Company stated.
