LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — United States Capitol Police have recognized the 28-year-old Michigan man who was arrested on the U.S. Capitol Customer Middle Tuesday round midday.

Police arrested Austin M. Olson of Westland for carrying a torch, flare gun, and paperwork police describe as a “manifesto” that talked about “the war in the Middle East,” The Hill stories.

In keeping with the Capitol Police, Olson drove to the Capitol and submitted to a routine safety screening of himself and his backpack. They are saying he smelled of gasoline, and so they discovered a torch and flare gun inside his jacket.

Police additionally consider that Olson meant to ship his paperwork to Congress, however haven’t concluded what his intentions had been at the moment.

After police searched his bag, he was arrested. The U.S. Capitol Police investigators mentioned they tracked Olson’s prior actions and situated his sedan at ninth Road and Maryland Avenue, NE. The automobile was cleared by the U.S. Capitol Police K9 Unit and the Hazardous Incident Response Division.

Investigators discovered that Olson traveled to the Washington, D.C. space from Michigan on Monday, November 4.
