Suspect killed, officer shot, 6 pipe bombs discovered after chase in Jackson

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Division found pipe bombs in a suspect’s automotive after he shot a police sergeant within the arm.

The chase started round 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 6 when regulation enforcement mentioned the unnamed suspect shot his brother in Lenawee County. After the suspect was discovered by a monitoring machine, officers indicated the person was driving a maroon coloured van.

Officers then situated the suspect’s automotive on the 1000 block of Cooper Avenue on the east facet of town of Jackson.

Deputies say the suspect led the police on a high-speed chase and a number of pictures had been fired. Police say a number of houses and automobiles had been shot through the police chase however there have been no stories of any accidents from bystanders.

Round 5:41 p.m., police say a sergeant from the Jackson Police Division was shot in his arm on the intersection of Van Dorn and Elizabeth Avenue.
