Former Hillsdale County sergeant pleads responsible to inmate assault

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A former Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Division sergeant pled responsible to 2 fees stemming from a 2021 incident the place he assaulted an inmate on the Hillsdale County Jail.

Ronald Leggitt, 44, of Marshall, pled responsible to at least one rely of misconduct in workplace and one rely of aggravated assault for an assault that occurred on the Hillsdale County Jail on Dec. 16, 2021.

In keeping with the Michigan Lawyer Basic, Leggitt was supervising operations and employees on the Hillsdale County Jail when a lady was introduced into custody. Workers had been knowledgeable that she had resisted officers through the arrest, and she or he continued to be resistant and disruptive whereas in custody.
