Lansing youth, nature organizations awarded grants from MSUFCU

Lansing youth, nature organizations awarded grants from MSUFCU

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– MSUFCU Desk Drawer Basis introduced it awarded $210,000 in grants to a number of group organizations within the decrease peninsula.

The Detroit Institute of Arts, First Steps, Todd Martin Youth Management, and Woldumar Nature Heart are the 4 organizations that can obtain the grant.

Todd Martin Youth Management will get $5,000 of the grant cash. The Metropolis of Lansing Parks and Recreation Division companions alongside the Lansing College District to broaden daytime sports activities programming after-school tutoring, and summer time youth programming for under-resourced youth.

“Our mission is to prepare young people, especially those from under-resourced families and communities, for success as individuals and as active, responsible citizens through innovative tennis, education, life skills, and leadership development programming,” stated Rebecca Johnson, Government Director.

“Our programs provide underserved youth with the opportunities, skills, and support they need to reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment. By focusing on academic growth, physical development, and social-emotional learning, we are building the next generation of leaders — empowered to succeed both now and in the future. As a result of the funding provided by the MSUFCU Desk Drawer Foundation, TMYL is able to expand the number of students served, as well as the number of days after-school and summer programming is offered in order to provide more enriching opportunities for kids and families. We are deeply grateful to the MSUFCU Desk Drawer Foundation for their generous support. Their commitment to empowering youth aligns perfectly with our mission at TMYL, as we both work to equip young people with the tools they need to thrive and become engaged, responsible citizens.”

Woldumar Nature Heart can even obtain $5,000 of the grant cash.

“The Woldumar Nature Association is honored to receive this grant from the MSUFCU Desk Drawer Foundation in support of our 2024 year-end campaign. This annual fundraiser enables us to protect and maintain over 180 acres of public greenspace and helps us deliver exceptional environmental educational programming to more than 7,000 children in the coming year. We are grateful to the Foundation and look forward to continuing to serve the Greater Lansing community with their support,” stated Kevin Wernet, Government Director.
