Dave says they wish to assist the neighbors and their neighborhood throughout the chilly winter months.

“We enjoy it. We feel good about it, and it’s just a positive thing,” said Burwick. “I think we’re gonna probably do it for at least a few years. As long as we can do it.”

Burwick says his spouse got here up with the concept—but it surely was a joint effort. He says she drew inspiration from her earlier place as President of the Board at Ledge Craft.

“She thought of this maybe four to three weeks ago,” said Burwick. “She put it on a community Facebook page, and from there, we’ve just got a lot of people donating.”

The drive has extra than simply jackets—individuals can seize hats, gloves, and even boots, and Burwivk says about 150 to 200 coats have been donated thus far.

“We continue to have donations every day,” said Burwick. “People being bags of clothes.”

He says the neighborhood’s response has been overwhelmingly supportive.

“A number of individuals commenting on how optimistic it’s and he or she’s even seen individuals doing different issues in the neighborhood,” stated Burwick.

Burwick says the coat drive ends on Jan. 1, and any leftover donations will probably be given to different charities within the space.
