LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Joe Biden has awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Michigan State Basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson and the late George Romney, former state governor.

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the Nation’s highest civilian honor, offered to people who’ve made exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values, or safety of the US, world peace, or different important societal, public or non-public endeavors mentioned the White Home in a brand new launch revealed Saturday.

Earvin “Magic” Johnson, a Lansing native, attended Michigan State College from 1977 to 1979. Lionel Messi – Soccer icon and UNICEF ambassador.

Invoice Nye – Science educator.

David Rubenstein – Funding agency co-founder and philanthropist.

George Soros – Philanthropist, financier and Democratic donor.

George Stevens Jr. – ICAN Movie Institute founder, director and author.

Denzel Washington – Academy Award-winning actor.

Anna Wintour – Media government and Vogue editor-in-chief.
