In an interview with Sky’s political correspondent Ali Fortescue, Mr Farage stated he has spoken with the billionaire proprietor of X since his criticism on 5 January, when Mr Musk stated: “The Reform Party needs a new leader. Farage doesn’t have what it takes.”
He added he has “been in touch” with Mr Musk, although would not disclose what that they had mentioned.
“Look, he said lots of supportive things. He said one thing that wasn’t supportive. I mean, that’s just the way it is,” Mr Farage stated.

Requested if he was afraid to criticise the tech mogul, the Clacton MP stated the state of affairs was “the opposite”, and he overtly disagreed with Mr Musk on his views on far-right activist Tommy Robinson.
Mr Farage stated: “What he [Musk] was saying online was that effectively Tommy Robinson was a political prisoner and I wouldn’t go along with that.
“If I had gone together with that, he would not have put out a tweet that was in opposition to me.
“By the best way, you already know, I can not be pushed or bullied or made to vary by anyone.
“I stick to what I believe.”
Mr Farage went onto repeat his place that Tommy Robinson, at present in jail for contempt of court docket, is not welcome in Reform UK and neither are his supporters.
He stated: “If people within Reform think Tommy Robinson should be a member of Reform and play a central role in Reform, that disagreement is absolutely fundamental.
“I’ve by no means wished to work with individuals who had been energetic within the BNP. I’ve made that clear proper all through the final decade of my on/off political profession. So that is what the purpose of distinction is.”
