LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A canine bit and injured two Lansing law enforcement officials Thursday afternoon throughout a visitors cease of a theft suspect. Police inform 6 Information the officers had been searching for a theft suspect and located him in a automotive with one other individual on the 400 block of South Francis Ave close to Kalamazoo St.
When officers had been attempting to take the person into custody on an excellent warrant for his arrest, a canine within the automotive bit each officers’ arms and arms.
Police say the canine continued to chew the officers within the legs after the suspect was taken out of his automotive. The officers fired one shot on the canine, killing it.
Emergency responders took each officers to a neighborhood hospital and Animal Management was notified of the incident.
“This was an unfortunate situation which resulted from Lansing officers placing a suspect into custody who was resisting officers both inside the vehicle and outside,” Lansing police instructed 6 Information in an electronic mail assertion.
