Ali Yerlikaya added that not less than 51 different individuals have been injured within the hearth on the Grand Kartal lodge within the resort of Kartalkaya within the Bolu mountains within the northwest of the nation.

The well being minister stated not less than one of many injured was in critical situation.

“We are in deep pain. We have unfortunately lost 66 lives in the fire that broke out at this hotel,” Mr Yerlikaya stated.

The fireplace broke out at round 3.30am within the restaurant of the 12-storey lodge, officers stated.

The reason for the fireplace is being investigated.

There have been 234 friends staying on the lodge, Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydin informed the state-run Anadolu Company.

Some jumped out of home windows in panic to flee the flames.

A number of hearth engines surrounded the charred constructing, and white mattress sheets tied collectively might be seen hanging from one upper-floor window the place friends tried to flee.
