Protestors rally on the Capitol, two days earlier than Trump’s inauguration

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)— Lots of of individuals gathered on the Capitol to protest in opposition to Donald Trump’s upcoming presidency, simply two days earlier than his inauguration. 

Monica Haladyna, a Mexican immigrant, and occasion organizer says the aim of the rally was to unite individuals, let their voices be heard, and defend their rights. 

“We’re just going to march forward for our rights because we’ve earned them,” stated Haladyna. 

“I thought it was a joke. I mean, it’s unreal, but it’s an oligarchy. We’re dealing with people with so much power,” stated Haladyna.

Solely two days earlier than Trump’s inauguration, considered one of his important priorities is deporting undocumented immigrants.

Haladyna believes that the order is simply too costly. 

“That’s going to be over 3 trillion dollars, and our government is already in deficit for 37 trillion dollars,” stated Haladyna.

Alyssa Hargett, a protestor, says she’s nervous for the way forward for the nation as a complete. 

“None of it makes sense. We’re a joke to the world,” stated Hargett. “We have to stand up for something or else we’re going to fall for everything.”

Dina Walters, a transwoman and protestor, says Trump’s perspective on trans individuals in America, is nothing optimistic. 

“Trump treats us like were 9th class citizens,” stated Walters. “like we don’t matter. Were still human. We still have feelings.” 

Haladyna hopes the protest will convey change in the course of the subsequent 4 years. 

“We need to move forward, and we need to lead our children and our future children, and generations with a good clean planet,” stated Haladyna.
