CLARK LAKE, Mich.(WLNS)—A whole lot of Michiganders participated in a polar plunge to boost donations for the Particular Olympics. 

Many Mid-Michiganders plunged into the blistering chilly waters of Clark Lake Saturday afternoon, not only for enjoyable, however to assist elevate cash for the Particular Olympics Michigan. 

The occasion was hosted by the Michigan Legislation Enforcement Torch Run. 

Lisa Hendricks, Government Director for the Michigan Legislation Enforcement Torch Run, says that over 300 individuals got here to assist the athletes. 

“The LETR raises cash for his or her housing and medals. Their meals once they go to video games so there is not a price for them once they’re on the video games,” mentioned Hendricks. 

The group has raised $64,00. Final 12 months their aim was $50,000.

Cayce Collier, a Particular Olympics Athlete, says he didn’t anticipate such an enormous turnout. 

“It’s really nice to know there’s so many people are out there supporting us, and making that we can get the equipment we need,” said Collier. “Go to the games, ’cause it all costs money, and all that has to come from somewhere.” 

Kelly Collier, Cayce’s mother says it was her first time collaborating within the plunge. 

“It was chilly! Nevertheless it was for trigger,” mentioned Kelly Collier. 

Kelsey Zoli, a participant, says she did the plunge along with her soccer crew.
