In Napoleon Township, the sheriff’s workplace supplies essential backup, particularly in a single day, through the 3-4 hour time-frame the place there isn’t any highway patrol.

The sheriff’s workplace used to have round 4 patrol automobiles per shift and had been in a position to help townships that didn’t have 24/7 police protection. Now, with restricted workers, they are going to solely reply to high-priority calls, comparable to life-threatening emergencies or in progress kind complaints.

Napoleon Township Deputy Chief Matthew Peters says his division depends on the sheriff’s workplace however with fewer deputies, response occasions can be longer and patrols can be restricted.

“I’d be remiss if I didn’t have some fears that something will be delayed,” he stated.

The sheriff’s workplace is making an attempt to fill gaps by working with Michigan State police, who will improve patrols on nights when protection is low.

“People need to understand that elections come with ramifications,” Schuette said. “There are things that happen as a result of your vote and this is what happened.”

Because the county navigates these modifications, native legislation enforcement stays dedicated to serving residents, even with restricted sources.

“We all know that our citizens come first, and we’ll find the best possible way to remedy any concerns they have,” stated Peters.
