British vacationer dies in India after ‘fall’ throughout mountain trek

A British vacationer has died whereas trekking with a good friend within the Dhauladhar mountains within the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.

It’s reported they suffered a severe damage after falling throughout their descent to the village Thathri, on the outskirts of Dharamshala.

Native police consider the pair, each 27, had been unaware a few ban on high-altitude climbing within the winter season, based on The Instances of India.

A spokesperson from the UK’s Overseas Workplace stated: “We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in India and are in contact with the local authorities.”

The Himachal Pradesh State Catastrophe Response Power (HP-SDRF) posted particulars of their rescue operation on X.

The HP-SDRF, which describes the group as a specialised state drive devoted to catastrophe response, stated it was alerted to the incident on Sunday at round 6pm native time.

A rescue staff of 10 personnel was deployed in what was described as “extremely difficult terrain” finding the victims at 10.30pm with one of many males “in a critical condition”.

The injured man was then transported by stretcher however progress was “extremely slow” and a second and third staff needed to be deployed due to “increasing fatigue and the challenging terrain”.

It was not till Monday that “the combined efforts of all teams finally enabled the successful transport of the victim and his friend, at 5.08pm”, wrote the HP-SDRF on X.

The rescue staff added that “unfortunately, upon arrival at Zonal Hospital, Dharamshala… [the man] was declared dead”.

Native media has reported the injured man suffered rib accidents throughout his fall.

The Dhauladhar mountains kind the center part of the huge Himalayan mountain system in south-central Asia, which extends throughout elements of India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Pakistan.
