Grand Ledge trainer nominated for Michigan Trainer of the 12 months

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)— Ten lecturers from throughout Michigan have been honored because the 2025-2026 Regional Academics of the 12 months and at the moment are finalists to win Michigan Trainer of the 12 months, together with Becky Manore of Grand Ledge.

Manore teaches Spanish at Grand Ledge Excessive Faculty in Grand Ledge Public Faculties and has been nominated for Area 6, which incorporates Eaton County, Clinton County, Shiawassee County and Ingham County.

The Michigan Division of Training (MDE) organizes the program and says it helps, “honor and elevate teacher voices.”

“The Regional Academics of the 12 months are chosen from amongst Michigan’s many excellent educators who play such an essential function in pupil studying,” mentioned State Superintendent Dr. Michael F. Rice.

The nominees will now interview with a panel of statewide training stakeholders. These stakeholders will then choose the winner The Michigan Trainer of the 12 months may have a seat on the State Board of Training desk as a non-voting member and can attend a number of nationwide conferences with fellow state lecturers of the yr. This trainer will even turn out to be Michigan’s candidate for Nationwide Trainer of the 12 months.

Regional Academics of the 12 months picks:

Area 1: Susan Solomon, an elementary trainer at JKL Bahweting Anishnabe Public Faculty Academy in Sault Ste. Marie.

Area 2: Thomas Schultz, a science trainer at Charlevoix Center/Excessive Faculty in Charlevoix Public Faculties.

Area 3: Sarah Kresnak, an elementary trainer at Discovery Elementary Faculty in Kentwood Public Faculties.

Area 4: Heather Wolf, a social research trainer at Shepherd Excessive Faculty in Shepherd Public Faculties.

Area 5: Corey Rosser, a social research trainer at Quest Excessive Faculty in North Department Space Faculties.

Area 6: Becky Manore, a Spanish trainer at Grand Ledge Excessive Faculty in Grand Ledge Public Faculties.

Area 7: Lindsey Prepare dinner, an elementary trainer at Sonoma Elementary Faculty in Harper Creek Neighborhood Faculties.

Area 8: Deidra LaPointe, an elementary trainer at Luther C. Klager Elementary Faculty in Manchester Neighborhood Faculties.

Area 9: Stephanie Jaskolski, an English language arts trainer at Woodhaven Higher Elementary in Woodhaven-Brownstown Faculty District.

Area 10: Susan Kelsey-Brewton, a science trainer at Hope Academy in Detroit
