Campbell Scott: Kenyan police ‘assured’ of catching killer of Scottish man present in sack of pineapples

Police have stated they’re “confident” they are going to catch whoever murdered a Scottish businessman whose physique was present in a sack of pineapples in Kenya.

Campbell Scott, believed to be from Dunfermline in Fife, was final seen attending a convention on the JW Marriot Resort in Nairobi on 16 February.

His physique was days later found in a sack of pineapples in a forest round 66 miles southeast of the town.

His dying is being handled as homicide and two individuals have been arrested as inquiries proceed.

A Nationwide Police Service spokesperson described it as a “heinous, heinous crime”.

The case is being investigated by the murder unit of Kenya’s Directorate of Prison Investigations.

The police spokesperson added: “It is actually tragic, however we’re all instructed that the authorities are going to resolve this.

“We are confident somebody will be held accountable for this.”

He added: “He appeared to have been tortured. The body, which was in bad state, prompted us to escalate the matter further.”

Mr Scott was a senior director at credit score scoring agency Fico.

“He joined Fico in 2014 and was instrumental in introducing Scores to new markets and growing our business with existing partnerships.

“We mourn his passing and can miss his humour and kindness.

“Our thoughts are with Campbell’s family and friends.”

The Overseas, Commonwealth and Improvement Workplace (FCDO) stated it’s supporting Mr Scott’s household and is in touch with the native authorities in Kenya.
