Campbell Scott: Two folks seem in court docket amid homicide probe into demise of Scottish businessman in Kenya

Two suspects arrested amid a homicide probe into the demise of a Scottish businessman in Kenya may be held for 21 days for additional police investigations, a court docket has dominated.

Alex Mutua Kithuka and Albunus Mutinda Nzioki appeared in court docket in Milimani on Monday in reference to the demise of Campbell Scott.

Mr Scott, believed to be from Dunfermline in Fife, was final seen attending a convention on the JW Marriot Lodge in Nairobi on 16 February.

Police advised the Related Press he was seen leaving his resort with an unidentified man they usually took a taxi to a residential space in Nairobi.

His physique was days later found in a sack of pineapples in a forest round 66 miles (106km) southeast of the town.

A Nationwide Police Service spokesperson described it as a “heinous, heinous crime”.

The case is being investigated by the murder unit of Kenya’s Directorate of Felony Investigations.

He added: “He appeared to have been tortured. The body, which was in bad state, prompted us to escalate the matter further.”

Mr Scott was a senior director at credit score scoring agency Fico and the corporate’s web site says he was primarily based out of its London workplace.

“We mourn his passing and will miss his humour and kindness. Our thoughts are with Campbell’s family and friends.”

The International, Commonwealth and Improvement Workplace (FCDO) beforehand mentioned it was supporting Mr Scott’s household and was involved with the native authorities in Kenya.
