Lansing Artwork Gallery and Schooling Middle to shut completely

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Lansing Artwork Gallery and Schooling Middle (LAGEC) will formally shut after 60 years on the finish of April as a consequence of ongoing monetary points.

In September 2024, LAGEC’s board of administrators briefly closed the gallery to reevaluate financials and suspended operations to concentrate on reorganizing reveals and academic packages after a lower in donations, sponsorships, grants, and attendance.

The gallery will host a closing Closing Reception Thursday, April 3 from 5 p.m. to eight p.m. The occasion will characteristic native and statewide art work that is out there for buy.

The gallery’s final solo exhibition, Canine Days shall be displayed in the course of the closing Closing Reception on Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to three p.m.
