Spadafore proclaims bid for open Lansing Metropolis Council seat

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Peter Spadafore, a member of the Lansing Metropolis Council, introduced Wednesday that he shall be working for the open 4th Ward on this yr’s election.

Spadafore has served as an at-large council member since 2018 and introduced final month that he wouldn’t run for workplace once more as a citywide consultant. His present time period ends on Dec. 31.

Nonetheless, the general public response has spurred him to run for a distinct seat.

“In the weeks since I announced I wasn’t running for a third term as an at-large Lansing City Council member, I’ve heard from neighbors from Colonial Village up to Delta River Drive and everywhere in between, asking me to continue serving our community,” Spadafore stated.

Now, Spadafore will run for the open 4th Ward seat.

“The outpouring of community support has been flattering, humbling and inspiring. After a lot of thinking and plenty of conversations these past few weeks, I have decided to run for the open 4th Ward seat in this year’s election.”

At-large council members are citywide representatives, whereas the ward council members particularly give attention to one space of the town.

“I’m working for the 4th Ward seat so I can work to deal with points going through residents on a block-by-block stage — important points like public security, neighborhood improvement, repairing our roads and parks upkeep,” says Spadafore. ““I’m prepared to realize a recent perspective on the Metropolis Council and tackle new challenges.”
