EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – For an additional season below Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll, the Michigan State ladies’s golf staff is heading to the NCAA regional match.
The Spartans earned the No. 4 seed within the Norman regional and can start play within the 12-team discipline on Monday, Could 5. The highest 5 groups after play on Wednesday, Could 7 will advance to the NCAA Championships.
Outdoors of the 2020 season, which was cancelled on account of COVID-19, MSU has reached the regional match in 9 straight seasons and for the twenty fifth time within the final 26 seasons.
When Michigan State popped up on the choice present, senior Brooke Biermann mentioned to fellow senior Katie Lu, ‘It is a full circle second.’
When Biermann and Lu have been freshmen, they competed within the Stillwater, Oklahoma regional.
“That was just a new experience for Katie and I,” Biermann mentioned. “Just being in a position where you either qualify or you don’t, and it’s season-ending. So, to see how far we’ve come and going back to Oklahoma is pretty cool.”
Lu mentioned, “It just reminds me of all the growth I have had these past four years here at Michigan State and also just like this team. We have a really solid team this year.”
Lu and Biermann have achieved loads of their careers at Michigan State and helped information this system to its first NCAA regional championship in 2023.
