(NEXSTAR) – Greater than 170,000 bottles of Martinelli’s apple juice have been recalled over potential contamination with patulin, in response to the U.S. Meals and Drug Administration.

The FDA signifies that the recalled juice was distributed to twenty-eight states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin.  

The affected juice was bought in 10-ounce “bulbous/round glass bottle[s],” per particulars of the FDA’s enforcement report. The recalled bottles featured a “best by” date of Dec. 5, 2026, and a UPC quantity studying “0 41244 04102 2.” The merchandise additionally bore one in all dozens of batch codes listed on the FDA’s web site.

A consultant for S. Martinelli & Firm couldn’t present additional particulars of the recall, or any motion that customers might want to take towards a refund, as of early on Friday afternoon.
