Pewamo-Westphalia celebrates six college students taking their skills to the collegiate degree

WESTPHALIA, Mich. (WLNS) — Celebrations had been held this morning at Pewamo-Westphalia Excessive Faculty for six college students who’re taking their skills to the collegiate degree.

Trey Nurenberg-Lansing Neighborhood School, Baseball

Whitney Werner- Michigan State College, Cross Nation and Observe & Area.

Mason Smith- Lawrence Tech College, Observe and Area (Excessive Bounce).

Kiefer Trimmer- Alma School, Soccer and Observe & Area.

Jensen Fox- College of Michigan, Band.

Isabelle Pawlanta- Michigan State College, Coloration Guard.

“I think the opportunity to play at the junior college level is just as good as any other level, and I think the program itself, I believe they’re 40 and 11 right now, it’s really exciting,” Trey Nurenberg mentioned. “They’re [LCC] is gonna go to the postseason again, the recruits are really, really good and I’m just really excited.”

“Michigan State has always been my dream college so to be able to go to and just be given this opportunity is just once in a once-in-a-lifetime thing,” Whitney Werner mentioned. “I’m forever grateful for it.”

Nurenberg will likely be following in his older brother, Drew, footsteps taking part in baseball for the Stars.

“Gotta try to be better than him, right?” Nurenberg mentioned. “I’m gonna try my best because those are some big standards to hold up. It is just a great opportunity for me because I know right when I step on the campus, I have got 25 other arms to compete against. I need to try my hardest day in and day out and try to get in that roster because they hold 25 to 30 arms and the best people are going to play. If you don’t prove yourself, you’re not going to play. So I’m just excited to show up and prove myself.”
