LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Financial Growth Company (MEDC) have authorized $25 million in grants to fund growth initiatives throughout the state.

The grants are a part of the Revitalization and Placemaking (RAP) program, which promotes “community revitalization needs in Michigan communities by investing in projects that promote population and tax revenue growth,” Gov. Whitmer mentioned in a information launch despatched to six Information.

The State of Michigan says this spherical of RAP funding has been awarded to 27 purposes and can help roughly 64 initiatives in 48 communities all through the state.

The RAP program supplies entry to financing for infrastructure growth, actual property rehabilitation and growth, and public area enhancements. These in search of funding refurbish vacant, underutilized, blighted, and historic buildings.

The MEDC’s Place, Packages and Companies staff obtained 81 purposes with a complete funding request of $83,125,309.
