Romania votes in second spherical of presidential election – with Bucharest mayor and hard-right Trump supporter virtually tied in polls

Polls have opened for the second spherical of Romania’s presidential election – with little separating centrist candidate Nicusor Dan from the populist George Simion.

Voting started at 7am (5am UK time) and is about to finish at 9pm (7pm UK time), with exit polls to observe quickly after.

Romania’s final presidential election was annulled six months in the past after the nation’s highest court docket determined that the main candidate, nationalist Calin Georgescu, must be disqualified attributable to allegations of electoral interference by Russia.

Romania’s subsequent chief?
