LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Police seized greater than $100,000 in counterfeit cash from a house in Brighton on Friday after a multi-county investigation involving a drone buy, based on the Michigan State Police.

On March 28, state troopers have been despatched to a residence in Brighton for a larceny criticism involving counterfeit cash. The victims reported {that a} man had bought a drone for $800 and paid with money—which they later discovered was counterfeit.

Investigators discovered that a number of suspects have been making purchases by numerous on-line marketplaces with counterfeit money—and that different police businesses in Livingston and Oakland County had opened investigations into them.

Friday, Could 23, regulation enforcement executed a search warrant on a house in Brighton, seizing greater than $100,000 in counterfeit money, a number of cellphones, and a pc.

The investigation is ongoing. Police say when the investigation is full, a request for expenses shall be despatched to the Livingston County Prosecutor’s Workplace.
