Ingham Co. Democratic Celebration honors former secretary killed in taking pictures

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Theodore “Ted” Lawson, who was the secretary of the Ingham County Democratic Celebration, was killed in a taking pictures in 2023. Right this moment, the occasion is rallying on the Capitol to honor his legacy.

The occasion says they’re “starting the day of protest to defend democracy with a rally to remember our friend Ted Lawson,” in a information launch despatched to six Information.

Ingham Co. Democratic Celebration secretary killed in weekend taking pictures

The Lansing Police Division says that 15-year-old Lamar Kemp approached Lawson and requested him for a greenback. Then, he shot Lawson.

Upon arrival, police discovered Lawson with a gunshot wound and transported him to a close-by hospital by way of ambulance, the place he later died.

Kemp was sentenced to 35–70 years in jail in September 2024 for the homicide.
