First flight to evacuate British nationals has left Israel, international secretary says

The primary flight to evacuate British residents from Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories has taken off, the international secretary has mentioned.

David Lammy advised the Commons that an RAF A400 took 63 UK nationals and dependants to Cyprus, because the battle within the Center East develops.

He said it was not yet clear how far the attack had set back Iran’s nuclear ambitions, but the need for a diplomatic solution remained.

“Air strikes can not destroy the data Iran has acquired over a number of a long time, nor any regime ambition to deploy that data to construct a nuclear weapon.”

Amid the continuing conflict, the foreign office has also advised British nationals in Qatar to “shelter in place” following a US security alert.

The US has said that warning is out of an “abundance of warning”.

Qatar initially mentioned the recommendation would not mirror the state of affairs however closed its airspace shortly after Mr Lammy’s assertion, saying the transfer has been finished to make sure the protection of residents and guests.
