James Cowan, chief government of The Halo Belief, stated in an announcement that he and Harry met Angola’s president to debate continued demining efforts.

“We thanked him for his extraordinary dedication to and investment in the vision of a mine-free country, and he expressed his intention to continue to support our work with a further significant contract for the next three years,” he stated.

The charity estimates that round 80,000 Angolans have been killed or injured by landmines throughout and after the 27-year civil battle, though there are not any actual figures.

The organisation says simply over 1,000 minefields, protecting an estimated 26 sq miles (67 sq km) nonetheless wanted to be cleared on the finish of 2024. Angola had set a purpose to be landmine-free by 2025.
