JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) — Candidate for governor and former Speaker of the Michigan Home of Representatives Tom Leonard, a Republican, introduced his “Unleashing Small Business Week” agenda to the town of Jackson on Wednesday.

He met with enterprise leaders about his plans to attempt to make Michigan the perfect place in America to begin a small enterprise.

“My goal is to make certain that Michigan is a growth state across the board so that our kids can stay here,” Leonard stated. 

A Dewitt native, Leonard introduced his bid for the state’s prime workplace in June. He says his marketing campaign is specializing in reducing taxes, rising the inhabitants, and enhancing the psychological well being and training techniques.

“20% of our state’s population suffers from some type of mental health issue. Half of them are not getting the treatment that they need. We’ve got to do something about this mental health crisis, but also this third grade reading crisis,” Leonard stated. 

Leonard says he’s zeroing in on large points in Michigan, equivalent to affordability and property tax reform, whereas additionally empowering staff by way of “Freedom to Work” insurance policies.
