Yungblud pays tribute to his hero Ozzy Osbourne as he opens up about ‘uncooked’ documentary Are You Prepared, Boy?

The singer-songwriter paid tribute to his hero on the premiere of his upcoming documentary, Are You Prepared, Boy?, which he admitted had been an “uncomfortable” watch because it reveals him at his most weak.

It provides followers a glimpse backstage throughout the means of recording stay tracks from his fourth studio album, Idols, which topped the charts in June.

Only a few weeks later, he was on stage at Again To The Starting – Ozzy Osbourne’s “final bow” reunion gig with Black Sabbath, held at Villa Park in Birmingham. The steel pioneer died lower than three weeks later.

Yungblud, whose actual title is Dom Harrison, carried out a canopy of Osbourne’s track Modifications, and went on to launch his model as a single, elevating funds for a similar charities because the live performance.

Afterwards, Ozzy gifted him a cross which he retains round his neck.

“Ozzy is everything to me, always has been,” he says. “And to be able to go on stage and honour my hero and sing that song to him, without knowing that they were his final days, was everything to me.

“I’ll strive my greatest to maintain that spirit and maintain that vitality alive. I really like that man. I received to know him personally on the finish and I really like that household. I’ve received nothing however love, at all times.”

Now, Harrison is preparing for the discharge of Are You Prepared, Boy?, which was filmed on the well-known Hansa Studios in Berlin, the birthplace of albums together with David Bowie’s Heroes and U2’s Achtung Child!.

Making music and all of his inventive output he sees as “life or death”, he says within the movie. “I mean, 100%,” he provides whereas on the pink carpet. “I think that’s how I like to play, you know? I mean, red or black, every time.

“I really like taking dangers and this movie is probably the most weak I feel I’ve ever been. It is fairly uncomfortable for me to observe. I’ve seen it as soon as, I am going to watch it tonight and possibly by no means watch it once more…

“I think in this day and age, it’s very easy for us to cut around things and make them palatable and digestible. I wanted to do something that would be raw and uncomfortable, and this is what came out.”

The movie comes throughout an intense interval for the star, who has simply opened his personal music venue and store in London, and can be planning a world tour and the return of his personal pageant, Bludfest, in 2026.

“I think it’s important for [fans] to know who I really am,” he says, of why he wished to make the movie. “I think 30 seconds on an Instagram video doesn’t quite cut it. It’s a fly-on-the-wall documentary… we didn’t have an overarching narrative at the start of it.

“I stated, include me for 2 weeks, roll the cameras and see what occurs.”

The star also spoke about Bludfest, which he launched in 2024. The third event next year will be “greater and higher,” he says.

The festival was set up as he felt prices had become too expensive and he wanted to show it could be done differently.

“I had one thing to show,” he says. “I feel this pageant was essential… It made me sick, the value of tickets. And a whole lot of promoters, I do not assume, took me significantly.

“We made a massive statement and I will continue to do that. I love my community, I love my fanbase. They’re all I care about.”

Are You Prepared, Boy? is out in cinemas on August 20 and 24
