LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Michigan lawmakers say they’re making an attempt to place a cease to the sexual exploitation of deepfake know-how by a bundle of payments within the state legislature.

The Michigan Senate met Wednesday concerning Home Payments 4047 and 4048, which each deal with deepfake sexual content material, a problem many imagine is an enormous concern throughout the state.

“It bans artificial intelligence generated explicit images,” Tsernoglou stated. “And [creates] a process for holding people accountable who are doing this sort of thing, because right now it’s unregulated.”

Tsernoglou warns these instruments within the incorrect arms can wreck lives.

The lawmaker says she is optimistic that the payments will ultimately be signed into legislation. She says the one query is jut how lengthy that can take.
