George Gilbey: Police conclude investigation into demise of Gogglebox star

Police have concluded their investigation into the demise of Gogglebox star George Gilbey.

Mr Gilbey sustained traumatic accidents to his head and torso and died in Shoeburyness, Essex, on 27 March final 12 months.

Coroner’s officer Deborah Frost informed a earlier inquest listening to that the 40-year-old had been “working on a roof when he fell through a plastic skylight, landing on the ground below”.

Two males who had been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter in relation to Mr Gilbey’s demise will face no additional police motion, Essex Police stated in a press release on Wednesday.

“Essex Police have confirmed their investigation into the death of George Gilbey last year has concluded,” the pressure stated.

Police stated the felony investigation stays open and shall be led by the Well being and Security Government (HSE).

HSE inspector Natalie Prince stated the company “will continue to thoroughly investigate George’s tragic death” and “aim to establish if there have been any breaches of health and safety law”.

She added: “We are in regular contact with George’s family and our thoughts remain with them at this time.”

Mr Gilbey was greatest recognized for showing on the Channel 4 collection Gogglebox – on which contributors watch and touch upon TV reveals from the earlier week.

He starred alongside his mom, Linda McGarry and stepfather Pete McGarry, who died aged 71 in 2021.

The household first appeared on the second collection of Gogglebox in 2013 however had been dropped the next 12 months when the truth star signed up for the 14th collection of Superstar Large Brother in 2014, reaching the ultimate.
