Potter Park Zoo welcomes new child purple panda cub

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Potter Park Zoo is welcoming a purple panda cub from dad and mom Maliha and Deagan-Reid on July 5, 2025. Mother, Maliha, and her cub usually are not a part of the purple panda exhibit proper now, however guests are welcome to go to Dad, Deagan-Reid.

In line with the zoo, this was achieved partly by the Affiliation of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and Species Survival (SSP). The zoo says animal care and veterinary groups have been maintaining an in depth eye on the cub’s progress and report that the new child seems to be in good well being.
