Candidate who misplaced Lansing mayoral main operating as write-in

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Brett Brockschmidt, who misplaced the Lansing mayoral main, is operating as a write-in candidate within the November basic election.

Andy Schor, the incumbent within the race, and Kelsea Hector superior via the first and on to the final election. Schor obtained 64% of the overall votes and Hector obtained 16%. Of the 5 candidates, Brockschmidt was fourth and obtained lower than 8% of the vote.

In a social media publish, Brockschmidt highlighted what he says are the 2 fundamental “problems” with Lansing, one among them being the “degradation” of public security and infrastructure. Moreover, he accuses Lansing builders of utilizing Schor as a “tool” to “purge Lansing of the poor and working classes through gentrification and excessive taxation.”

“For those who find both candidates unacceptable, and want to cast protest votes that will actually be counted and published, I have decided to file a ‘declaration on intent to file as a write-in candidate,'” Brockschmidt wrote.

Schor assumed workplace because the Mayor of Lansing in 2018 after 5 years within the Michigan Home of Representatives.
