Albion Faculty celebrates 10 years of the Construct Albion Fellows program

Albion Faculty celebrates 10 years of the Construct Albion Fellows program

ALBION, Mich. (WLNS) — Albion Faculty is celebrating a decade of its Construct Albion Fellows program, a full-ride alternative for rising Mid-Michigan college students. What began as a dream to get school youngsters extra concerned of their hometown has grow to be a community of profitable professionals making their mark throughout all industries.

Director of Recruitment Corey Grazul factors to this system creating new educational expectations.

“The college has actually implemented an experiential learning graduation requirement for all students, kind of a learning out of the fellows’ program,” Grazul mentioned. “So, every student now that comes to Albion is required to do some sort of hands-on applied learning experience in order to graduate.”

Govt Director of Particular Tasks Ari McCaskill says workshops present sensible expertise for skilled and private improvement.

“They get this immersive exponential learning experience that teaches them how to engage, how to challenge, how to think, and then thus go out, go forth in the world and change it and make it better,” McCaskill mentioned.

Markeese Boyd was one of many inaugural members of this system in 2015. He says the alumni presence made an enormous distinction in serving to him land a job in Jackson after commencement.

Cassidy Porter graduated as a Construct Albion Fellow with pursuits in advertising and engagement in 2023. She says this system gave her stepping stones in constructing relationships and gaining new duties to reach her present function as a group and model ambassador at Albion Neighborhood Basis.

“A lot of like the spark that I have for my role really started as a Build Albion Fellow because I was able to continue my impact in Albion and I’m able to continue that impact now,” Porter mentioned. 

McCaskill says they’ll rejoice this system’s development with an alumni tailgate throughout subsequent month’s homecoming soccer recreation, whereas additionally waiting for what’s subsequent.
