LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — U.S. Sen. Elissa Slotkin, a former CIA analyst, says Russian President Vladimir Putin is mocking President Donald Trump whereas launching a significant assault on Ukraine’s capital.

Slotkin informed CNN’s “The Amanpour Hour” that Putin is “testing the limits like a toddler,” referencing latest incursions into NATO airspace and a high-profile assembly with Chinese language President Xi Jinping.

Trump met with Putin final month at a U.S. air base in Alaska.

“The data points since then are basically like a thumb in the eye to Trump,” Slotkin, D-Holly, informed host Christiane Amanpour. “Putin goes and does this big event with the Chinese leadership, he launches the largest assault on Kyiv since the beginning of the war and now is testing, like a toddler, the sort of NATO limits by sending drones over (Poland and Romania).”

Slotkin instructed Trump’s efforts to resolve the struggle in Ukraine and conflicts within the Center East could also be motivated by a need to win a Nobel Peace Prize.

“I personally think we have to send a strong message back to Putin because he is clearly walking all over President Trump,” she mentioned. “I don’t think a Nobel Prize is in his future for the president.”
