Georges Seurat’s portray of cancan dancers ‘Le Chahut’ (1889‒90) will go on show within the UK for the primary time this September as a star mortgage in a significant new exhibition on the Nationwide Gallery – its first-ever dedicated to the Neo-Impressionist artwork motion. Largely drawn from the excellent assortment of the German artwork collector Helene Kröller-Müller (1869‒1939), on the Kröller-Müller Museum, Otterlo, within the Netherlands, the exhibition will present radical works of French, Belgian and Dutch artists, painted from 1886 to the early twentieth century. These embody Anna Boch (1848‒1936), Jan Toorop (1858-1928), Théo van Rysselberghe (1862‒1926), Paul Signac (1863‒1935) and Georges Seurat (1859–1891) himself.

One of many first nice girls artwork patrons of the twentieth century, Kröller-Müller, assembled what might be the world’s biggest and most complete assortment of Neo-Impressionist work simply 20 years after these works have been painted.

In addition to being one of many first European girls to place collectively a significant artwork assortment, Kröller-Müller was a pioneer in displaying trendy artworks on white partitions; in a museum designed by Belgian architect Henry van de Velde, who started his profession as a Neo-Impressionist painter.
