'All people's grandmother': Girl dedicates years of service to MSU

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Because the Seventies, Michigan State College has seen lots of change—greater than 10 college presidents, 12 head soccer coaches, and a handful of official college logos—however one particular worker has devoted a long time to serving the Spartan neighborhood.

Clara Kent began working in Michigan State’s eating halls in 1972.

“This was my first job,” stated Kent. “I’ve worked over at the Circle. I’ve worked in Landon. I’ve worked at Campbell. I worked in Mayo. I’ve done it all!”

Though she married younger and had kids of her personal, for Miss Clara, MSU is a house away from residence. 

“I enjoy the students, and as you know, I’m 92. They keep me young,” stated Kent. 

“She’s one of us, she’s family,” stated Oyler.
